Discovery Camps run Monday through Friday throughout the summer for campers entering 2nd through 4th grade. This is a full-day program with no overnight stay. Campers enjoy Bible lessons, outdoor play, daily swimming, crafts, and structured activities that rotate each week. LSCA provides morning and afternoon snacks; campers bring their own lunch. Each week has a unique lesson plan and craft theme, allowing campers to attend multiple weeks without repeating activities. Camps take place at Lakeview Lodge, and each camper receives a t-shirt.

Hello Camp is designed for our youngest future campers—ages 2–5—and gives them a joyful first introduction to LSCA with the comfort of having an adult attend alongside them. Junior High Camp is designed for students entering 7th and 8th grade who are ready for a week packed with excitement, challenge, and opportunities to grow. Campers stay in air-conditioned dorms, enjoy delicious from-scratch meals, and spend their days swimming, boating, playing gaga ball and 9-square, competing in team challenges, trying archery, and jumping into camp-wide games that match their energy. But the heart of Junior High Camp goes deeper than the activities. Students gather daily for worship, Bible teaching, small group discussions, and personal reflection—creating space for real questions, real conversations, and real spiritual growth. This age group is navigating big transitions, and camp provides a welcoming community where they can build friendships, gain confidence, and better understand their identity in Christ. Campers also hear from our summer missionary partner and have chances to support their ministry through canteen offerings throughout the week. Junior High Camp is a powerful blend of fun, challenge, and faith formation—an unforgettable week where students experience God, community, and adventure in a whole new way.

Speaker Don Green Don Green earned degrees from Lincoln Christian College, Lincoln Christian Seminary, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. After 15 years serving churches in Illinois and Indiana, he spent 42 years at Lincoln Christian University as an administrator, seminary professor, and president from 2014–2020. Don currently serves with Lakeside Christian Church in Springfield, where his son-in-law, Jon Morrissette, is lead minister. Step away from your day-to-day and join LSCA for an overnight retreat dedicated to putting God at the center of everything. Through worship, speakers, workshops, and hands-on explorations, we will discover together what it truly means to “Seek First” His kingdom in our personal lives. We will share delicious house-made meals, create art together, enjoy campfire, and still have ample opportunity for simple quiet reflection with our Creator. This retreat is for all women, of all ages, from all churches. Grab a sister or friend and register for this retreat on Lake Springfield. FAQ: Where do we sleep? We will sleep in Eagle Lodge, which has multiple rooms of 6 bunk beds each (12 beds total). Beds are twin-size; please bring your own bedding. Is food included? Dinner, snacks, breakfast and brunch are included in the registration fee. Please include any special instructions (allergies, etc) when registering. Can I come alone? Absolutely! Every retreat has women attending who know no one else. You can choose to make new friends, or experience the retreat in a more personal way. What if I don’t want to do some of the planned activities? The campgrounds are open for the duration of the retreat; you are welcome to walk the grounds, take a nap, find a quiet place to reflect or sit with friends, play volleyball, etc. Will we get to do “camp” stuff at the retreat? Weather permitting, several camp activities such as kayaking and campfire will be available. What should I bring? Bible and notebook/pens, bedding, clothing, toiletries. Please- no food in the dorms.
