Prayer is one of the most meaningful ways you can partner with LSCA. For more than 85 years, God has used this ministry to shape lives, strengthen churches, and draw campers closer to Christ. We depend on faithful people who are willing to lift up our staff, faculty, volunteers, retreats, and every camper who steps onto our grounds.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”
— Psalm 127:1
We rely on the Lord for all that happens here, and your prayers are a vital part of that ongoing work.
Why Prayer Matters
Throughout Scripture, God calls His people to pray—with confidence, faith, and expectation.
Paul writes:
“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”
— Colossians 4:2
Everything we do—from summer camp sessions to weekend retreats—benefits from people praying for God’s guidance, provision, and protection. LSCA’s ministry is strengthened when friends like you lift us up before the Lord.
How to Pray for LSCA
Pray for Campers
To encounter Christ in a personal, life-changing way
For meaningful friendships and strong Christian community
For safety, peace, and spiritual growth
For God’s Word to take root in their hearts
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6
Pray for Faculty & Volunteers
For unity, wisdom, and endurance
For joy as they lead worship, cabin devotions, and activities
For spiritual strength as they mentor and guide campers
“Serve one another humbly in love.”
— Galatians 5:13
Pray for LSCA's Staff
For clear direction as they plan and lead
For energy during busy seasons
For God’s provision in day-to-day operations
For faithfulness in stewarding LSCA’s mission
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
— Colossians 3:23
Pray for the Ministry Year-Round
For weekend retreats, guest groups, and off-season ministry
For God to continue calling new families, churches, and groups to LSCA
For protection over the campgrounds and all who visit
“Pray without ceasing.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Join Us in Prayer
Each year on March 4th, we invite our partners and supporters to participate in “March Forth in Prayer”—a focused day of lifting LSCA before the Lord. This date is more than a clever play on words; it is a yearly call for our community to march forth together in unified, intentional prayer for the ministry, the staff, and every camper who will be part of the coming season.
Whether you pray individually, with your family, in your small group, or as a church, we encourage you to set aside time on March 4th to intercede for the year ahead and thank God for His continued provision.
If the Lord leads you, we also welcome your ongoing prayers throughout the year as LSCA carries out its mission “that all might be built up in Christ.” Your commitment to prayer strengthens this ministry in ways seen and unseen, and we are deeply grateful for your partnership.
