Wilderness Skills Courses
We are offering 2 different Wilderness Skills Course options this spring:
Wilderness Skills: Wednesdays, April 7th, 14th, & 21st. 10am – noon.
The course is for 6th-9th graders and will be $60 for each camper. We will learn general safety considerations in the outdoors, discuss leave no trace camping, how to build a fire / cook over a fire, basic orienteering, basic foraging, shelter building, and tent and stove use. Our hope is that each camper who completes this course will leave feeling equipped and confident in their abilities to spend time in the outdoors in a fun and safe way!
Wilderness Skills Intensive: Saturday, May 1st. 9am – noon.
This course is for 6th-9th graders and will be $35 for each camper. We will fit in as much from our 3 week course as possible including understanding leave no trace principles, how to build a fire, important knots and how to use them, and basic orienteering. We hope to see your camper there!
- Any piece of equipment used will be disinfected after each day of use.
- A few simple symptom / exposure questions and temperatures will be taken each day upon arrival.
- Course will take place outside with proper social distancing enforced. When proper social distancing cannot be maintained masks will be worn.
- Hand sanitizer will be available.
